An early tally of the attendee surveys showed an overall ranking of the presentations with a score of around 4.4 out of a possible 5.0. Some of the favorites mentioned in the survey: the hands-on labs hosted by Planview professional services and development staff, the many panels by the Planview analysts and software engineering group, and the peer presentations and partner events. The fourth annual event brought in Planview customers and partners from across the globe, with an attendance figure that surpassed expectations. "This customer response is all the more impressive when you consider the corporate travel limitations of the past weeks, and the fact that our Planview Europe operations are planning to begin their own User Group Meetings next Spring," said Vice President of Business Development Gordon Quick, who was also Director of this year's User Meeting. Adding another half-day enabled the Planview organizers to increase the presentation content by about 20% over previous years. Key Planview Customers PresentedSome of the highlights of the event included Planview customers describing how they used their integrated project, service and resource management solution to satisfy other business needs. Lyn Maxwell of John Deere's (NYSE:DE) Corporate Information Department spoke on how they centralized time reporting in Planview and were able to identify and status in real-time all project and non-project work using Planview as the basis for their new centralized management system. Greg Lege with BMC Software (NYSE:BMC) spoke about their expertise in leveraging the time and expense data exported into the Planview Financial Repository to drive invoicing and revenue recognition in Oracle Financials. Dick LeBlanc of Seagate Technology spoke about how their internal professional services group used Planview to compete successfully against outsourcers and to pull together strategic information in a few hours that used to take them two weeks. Laurie Duff and Dave Mungai of ADP Dealer Services (NYSE:ADP) spoke on how they partnered with Planview on developing the integrated contract management features. Rick Caruso of Fiserv Corp. (NASD:FISV) spoke of how they implemented their global Planview system. Richard Wilson from Case New Holland (NYSE:CNH) spoke to the Monday lunch crowd about how he and others in the Midwest started a Regional Planview Users Group. Dave Bender of Hencie Consulting invoked the spirit of Christopher Columbus in his presentation on the Knowledge Management Bank their group integrated with Planview to share information and documents with their clients and stakeholders. Planview Alliance Partners Offered Complementary SolutionsPlanview Partner ProSight Inc. demonstrated their portfolio and executive management system on Wednesday and at a Partner's reception Tuesday night. Also presenting "How to Implement a Successful Project Management Office," as the Tuesday keynote was Frank Yanan, the Vice President of Program Management of The Revere Group, a Planview Services Alliance Partner.
