Planview and Starbase Partner to Deliver New Enterprise-Wide Management Capability for Development Projects

The combination of Planview and Starbase StarTeam and CaliberRM is intended to empower IT organizations to analyze candidate development projects based on opportunity, cost and business alignment; and select the most appropriate for the business resources and needs. Organizations will have technology to track and monitor performance of teams, schedules, budgets and effectiveness of the development process, including requirements and change management. The combined Planview/CaliberRM solution will enable proposed business projects to be realistically estimated before approval by elaborating the requirements sufficiently to understand the scope of the project and will enable further structuring and management of the project, including portfolio analysis and ROI calculations.

Starbase StarTeam is a change and configuration management system that delivers key process management functionality to large distributed development teams, specifically targeted at increasing productivity. The combined solution will enable the recording of development time against tasks, the automatic updating of project plans and will provide improved monitoring and decision making on changes to development plans as necessary.

The partner agreement between Planview and Starbase, and the integrated solution is intended to provide companies with a unified tool set for maintaining an enterprise view of development projects in order to execute their projects on time, on budget and within scope.
