• Congress Avenue Bats Bat watching is a popular pastime in Austin. Its claim to fame is the largest urban colony of Mexican free-tail bats in North America. The best viewing area is under Town Lake's Congress Avenue Bridge between March and October at sunset. Bring a blanket.

• The Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum This popular attraction tells the "Story of Texas" with three floors of interactive exhibits, the special effects show, The Star of Destiny, in the Texas Spirit Theater, and Austin's only IMAX Theatre. The facility is open Monday through Saturday 9:00 am - 6:00 pm Sunday 12 noon - 6:00 pm.
