PPM has become an established standard for enhancing the performance of IT organizations by allowing them to optimize the planning and execution of strategic objectives in an inherently resource-constrained environment. Gartner positioned Planview in the Leaders Quadrant based on Planview's completeness of vision and ability to execute.

Planview received a "positive" market rating in the Gartner MarketScope for Project and Portfolio Management Applications in June 2011.
