Business Intelligence Product Support Consultant

Job Description

Planview, Inc., a worldwide leader in integrated resource, project and service management software, is looking for an energetic self-starter that thrives in a dynamic environment and is committed to excellence. Planview is currently seeking a Business Intelligence Support Consultant who will be responsible for providing dedicated support and assistance to customers for the configuration, use and maintenance of the Planview Application specializing in the Business Objects integration.

Previous customer support experience is required. Candidates must have good communication skills and be comfortable working with people at all levels of management and technical abilities. We are seeking an individual that has strong interpersonal skills, with a driven attitude toward success, who can work with limited supervision. Strong writing skills are required. Familiarity with Web-Based and .NET applications is helpful.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide support for Business Objects and SQL Server Analysis Server Reporting which are embedded in the Planview application
  • Answer incoming customer calls, provide level 1 and level 2 support for Planview Preferred customers, and document incident information in detail within the tracking system
  • Document problems and solutions in detail to achieve best and quickest resolution for new and old problems
  • Develop action plans to assess problems or unusual situations and develop solutions
  • Coordinate with other teams to provide resolutions
  • Properly manage customer expectations
  • Work closely with Development to identify issues and develop resolutions

Qualifications

  • At least three years of helpdesk experience supporting systems and enterprise-wide applications
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Must have strong communication and training skills and be able to communicate technical information to non-technical users
  • Must have solid, hands on, diagnostic/troubleshooting experience
  • Must have experience with Microsoft Windows 2000, 2003, and 2007 environments
  • 2 years of experience with Business Objects preferred
  • 2 years of experience with SQL Server Analysis Reporting
  • Experience supporting web-based, browser applications
  • Understanding of Microsoft IIS services and configuration options
  • Working knowledge of Oracle, SQL Plus, Microsoft SQL Server, Query Analyzer products and the ability to construct advanced database queries
  • Working knowledge of database stored procedures

Sales Solution Consultant (U.S. Pre-sales)

Job Description

A Planview Solution Consultant serves as a senior consultative resource to the U.S. Sales Team. Planview Solution Consultants work very closely with the U.S. based sales team, which consists of a Sales Account Executives, Regional Sales Vice Presidents and Inside Sales Representatives. The Solutions Consultant routinely engages both internally and externally with Director, VP and C-level staff providing critical perspective and guidance on strategy, investments and innovation drawing upon their depth and breadth of technical and business impact knowledge. The goal will be to facilitate on-going projects and product demonstration that will help to start new initiatives and sell Planview solutions. In conjunction with the Sales Account Executive, the Solutions Consultant creates and articulates customer-specific technology solutions in a compelling way. The goal is to become a thought leader and trusted advisor to enterprise CIOs, CTOs, CTO office, VPs of Infrastructure, VPs of Applications, enterprise consultants and IT strategists.

  • An understanding of the financial and technical challenges faced with running a business
  • The ability to articulate and understand Planview software technology and the benefits that can be applied applications of Planview software and service solutions to customer environments
  • A strong understanding of competitive technologies, competitor positioning, counter-arguments and emerging technologies that could be both cooperative and competitive
  • Skills and knowledge in the areas of project & risk management, business finance and strategic account planning would be advantageous
  • Minimum 2-4 years of enterprise solution selling experience along with technical sales experience
  • Strong customer-facing and relationship building skill

Training Consultant

Job Description

In this role, you will interact with external customers and internal engagement managers to identify and document training requirements for the suite of Planview software applications. You are responsible for the delivery of hands-on Planview Enterprise software training courses to external customers, both in the classroom and via a Virtual Classroom platform. You will modify student training materials, create custom training materials, and ensure that all training delivery is aligned to the client's processes and overall organizational goals. Curriculum content includes, but is not limited to, analytics and reporting using report builder, insight analytics, business objects, enterprise portfolio management solutions/products and portfolio management techniques and strategies.

As the ideal candidate, you are accustomed to a fast-paced environment, where it is critical to balance multiple projects and thrive under pressure. You are able to learn enterprise software applications quickly and in a self-guided fashion. Independence is a must -- you are a self-starter where taking initiative is what you do best. You understand the needs of the customer and respond with customer-centric services and deliverables. You have a background in report writing/creation, development, product management, finance, portfolio management, project and resource management, or corporate financial planning. Job Responsibilities

  • Delivers functional software and process training curriculum to customers, either on-site or via the Virtual Classroom platform
  • Works closely with the client and the engagement manager to identify, prepare for, and deliver exceptional role-based software training that aligns with the client's processes and industry best practices
  • Meets or exceeds quality targets for instructor performance and utilizes best practices for ensuring excellence in instructor training and performance
  • Actively collaborates with the content development team to build skills in training processes and tools required to facilitate learner success
  • Reviews proposed training plans and content, often modifying standard training materials or creating custom materials for use in client instruction
  • Provides feedback to management on classroom performance and customer experience and recommends actions for continuous improvement
  • Develops and maintains a close partnership with supported business teams to ensure training is current and relevant to evolving business needs
  • Works closely with the product development team and program managers to ensure timely access to technical content and required equipment for new product releases

Qualifications

  • Must be willing to travel up to 75%
  • Extensive classroom training experience delivering technical content and utilizing adult learning theory is required
  • Technical experience with reporting or analytics tools. (Report Builder, Insight Analytics, or Business Objects preferred)
  • Experience with data manipulation, database schemas, writing SQL Queries, and practical experience using pivot tables in Excel
  • Must have experience in at least one of the following areas:
    • Report Writing/Creation
    • Product Management
    • Finance
    • Portfolio Management
    • Project and Resource Management (with PMP certification)
    • Corporate Financial Planning
    • Services Resource Management
  • Must be able to work cross-functionally with technical support, training development team, clients, and engagement managers to ensure success of training delivery
  • Must be able to develop training materials as required and provide feedback for new and existing training deliverables
  • Have a knack for understanding databases and schemas, and you'd describe yourself as "technical"
  • Undergraduate degree and 6-8 years relevant experience or graduate degree and 4-6 years relevant experience
  • Must be strategic in thinking and planning and able to manage multiple projects at one time
  • Excellent writing and editing skills and meticulous organizational skills
