Planview Introduces Brad Rable as Executive in Residence

Austin, TX — March 17, 2009 — Planview®, the leading independent provider of enterprise-wide portfolio management solutions, today announced that Brad Rable, former USAA Senior Vice President of Program Management, is the newest participant in the Planview Executive in Residence visiting expert program.

In this role, he will share with Planview executives and customers the methodologies he developed and used to drive US $1B of tangible value for USAA through IT software development programs, increasing the demonstrable business benefit of IT to the enterprise.

"Fundamentally, many companies simply do not understand what they work on, when, and why; their prioritization decisions are not based on a formal decision process framework, and have no contingency planning built in," said Rable. "Even in good economic times, organizations must have a handle on all the facets impacting work -- everything from legal issues to ROI to pressure from management -- in order to increase transparency into where and why money is being allocated to best meet strategic requirements and protect sustaining efforts. And in times like these, the pressure is all the greater, which is why I believe in the value message of Planview, a company whose solutions empowers its customers to cut costs strategically while speeding time to value with projects and products."

A performance-focused and visionary IT leader, Rable led a US $500M, 3,000+ global software developer organization executing more than 400 projects per year for USAA, providing executive leadership for IT projects. A recognized subject matter authority in areas including enterprise project management, IT financial management, and global IT delivery, his previous experience includes leading successful implementation efforts for USAA strategic technology efforts, and progressive leadership positions with the United States Air Force, Computer Data Systems, and Robbins Gioia.

"We are excited to extend to our customers access to Brad's expertise, as many tell us they face the same challenges which he has successfully overcome," said Linda Roach, vice president of marketing, Planview. "The benefits that Planview solutions deliver, coupled with Brad's insight and practical approach, will help our clients tangibly demonstrate the value of their organizations by helping them deliver real benefits in the form of cost cutting, risk mitigation, and increased revenue."

Established in January 2007, the Planview Executive in Residence program hosts a series of experts who bring an elevated level of industry experience, expertise and customer insight to the organization. Rable joins Rich Murphy, former IT CFO Deutsche Bank; former AMR executive Randy S. Leiser; and former SGI CIO Sean Worthington, now with Cisco Systems, in the Executive in Residence program.
