Planview Positioned in the Leaders Quadrant in the 2009 Project and Portfolio Management Magic Quadrant

Evaluation based on company's completeness of vision and ability to execute in IT PPM

Austin, TX — June 10, 2009 — Planview®, the leading independent provider of enterprise-wide portfolio management solutions, today announced it has been positioned in the leaders quadrant in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for IT Project and Portfolio Management1. The report evaluates vendors within the project and portfolio management (PPM) industry.

"We are proud to be named leaders by Gartner, as we are to be celebrating 20 years of pioneering the value of portfolio management," said Greg Gilmore, president and chief operating officer of Planview. "We owe our success to our strong customer community. Twenty years of working hand in hand with our customers and our singular focus on portfolio management have enabled us to deliver powerful, comprehensive PPM solutions that deliver the business results that organizations demand."

To evaluate the vendors, Gartner positioned the PPM vendors based on their "ability to execute" and "completeness of vision."

"It is no surprise to me that Planview was placed in the leaders quadrant," said Bruce Leidal, CIO, Carestream Health. "We conducted an exhaustive vendor review when selecting a PPM solution and Planview Enterprise best met our requirements for strong functionality, interoperability with our existing systems, proven expertise in portfolio management, and flexible executive interaction."

In the first half of 2009, Planview released several offerings including Planview Enterprise® 10, the latest version of its market-leading portfolio management suite. Planview also introduced Planview Enterprise Product Portfolio Management, specifically built to extend the benefits of portfolio management to product development organizations, and released additions to its Planview OpenSuite™ integration line, which enables easy integration of Planview Enterprise with key IT and business management systems. In late 2008, the company also released its on-demand version of Planview Enterprise to provide customers with a broader set of delivery options. For more information, please visit www.planview.com.
