Planview Recognized as a Leader in Gartner Magic Quadrant for IT Project and Portfolio Management Software Applications, Worldwide

Company achieves highest and furthest position for completeness of vision and ability to execute

AUSTIN, Texas – June 1, 2016

Planview® has been designated as a Leader in the May 2016 Gartner “Magic Quadrant for IT Project and Portfolio Management Software Applications, Worldwide.” The company’s PPM solutions include Planview Enterprise®, for resource and portfolio management, and Projectplace, a work collaboration tool for small teams and enterprises.

This is the second year in a row that Planview has appeared in the Leaders quadrant. Planview is positioned the highest for execution and furthest for completeness of vision in the Leader’s quadrant.

“We believe our designation as a Leader in the Magic Quadrant affirms that our product strategy continues to deliver for organizations looking to make the most out of their resources,” said Patrick Tickle, chief product officer at Planview. “As a company, we have a deep commitment to the portfolio and resource management market, and we wake up every day looking to drive innovations that bring more value to our customers in this increasingly important domain.”

Gartner evaluates vendors on two main criteria: ability to execute (product or service, overall viability, market responsiveness, customer experience, operations, and sales/marketing execution) and completeness of vision (innovation, business model, market understanding, and having a strong strategy for product, marketing, sales, geography and vertical/industry).

“Demand for IT PPM software continues to expand, with over PPM market growth of 7.4% in 2015 amounting to more than $2 billion in revenue. This is due, in part, to an increased pace of change, as well as change in the nature of change, driven by digitalization. An almost universal shortage of resources exacerbates the impact of the ever-increasing pace of change,” according to Gartner.¹

Additionally, Gartner has ranked Planview the number three vendor by market share in the project and portfolio management software market, based on worldwide revenues in 2015.² This represents an improved market share where Planview was listed as the fourth largest vendor in the same market, based on worldwide revenues in 2014.²

Planview is a Premier sponsor of the Gartner PPM and IT Governance Summit June 6-8 in Orlando, Florida and will be located at Booth 100.
