Planview to Discuss How PMOs Can Drive Continuous Planning at Camp IT

AUSTIN, Texas – February 24, 2016

The tyranny of the annual budget plagues some project management organizations (PMOs). Beholden to an extensive, manual process each year, PMO decision-making then becomes a byproduct of budgeting for annual, not strategic, planning. Carina Hatfield, Planview® product manager, will examine continuous, strategic planning and the real impact it can have on business outcomes and results during the annual Camp IT PMO/Portfolio Management conference in Las Vegas on Monday, Feb. 29.

Session Title

Understanding the Priorities and Tackling the Challenges of the PMO

Topic

In a recent CIO QuickPulse Survey of IT leaders, 85 percent report their organizations deviate from the approved annual plan several times per year to meet internal and market demands. During this presentation at Camp IT, Hatfield will provide more insights from this recent survey, including how to proactively manage the challenges around overcommitting resources in PMOs and focusing on the need for innovation and agility in planning. She will also discuss how to readjust priorities for new, incoming demand and existing work to successfully pave the way in today’s digital transformation.
